About Us / About Me
My earliest childhood memories are of visiting my Nanny Sheila with my Mum at her very busy North London Flower Shop. I loved it there, a real sensory tour de force, especially at Christmas. I fondly remember 'mossing up' funeral tribute frames with the staff while Mum and Nanny had a natter and a cuppa. My first Saturday job was there. It taught me a good work ethic and how to interact with customers. My love of flowers was definitely sown then.

On leaving college I went into full time employment at my parents recently established florist in Bushey, Martin Roberts at The Flower Shop. This was in 1995. I initially started work there with the intention of leaving and setting up my own record shop once I had saved enough money. But floristry is in my blood and it took hold of me, and 17 years later I was still there. I had learnt everything from the ground up, become a partner in the family business and still loved the profession. The shop is a thriving business and a real accolade to my parents.

In 2012 the opportunity of purchasing a flower shop in Watford arose and we decided to go for it. I had often thought about 'branching out' and was very excited by the prospect of it. The idea being to let me Manage it and to bring to Watford what we had in Bushey, a flower shop packed with beautiful, fresh English and Dutch flowers arranged in contemporary containers and vases by myself and enthusiastic and skilled florists. Before I knew it, I was standing in my own flower shop, the 4th generation family member to do it.
I thank you for choosing Samuel Roberts at The Flower Shop, you can trust in the fact that I love what I do, and strive to offer the best service and product I can for you.
